About California Rehabs

According to the latest national survey of substance abuse treatment facilities, California had a total of 1,725 participating drug rehabs. About 42 percent of these offered any type of inpatient or residential rehabilitation services, with 36 percent of California rehab centers having long-term inpatient program options.

Of the 140,000 people in California who were receiving help during this time period, almost 20,000 attended some type of inpatient facility, which is equal to only about 14 percent of the total treatment population.
